    The Regulatory Compliance Specialist supports the overall AdvantageCare Physicians New York regulatory compliance, documentation and billing audit function. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will monitor regulatory accreditation compliance for various licensures and certifications in collaboration with clinical and operational departments, coordinates the response to external regulatory requests, audits, and reviews and follows-up on corrective action. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will assist the Vice President, Regulatory Compliance with the oversight and implementation of AdvantageCare Physicians Compliance program including policies, procedures, state and federal laws, and regulations. In addition they will monitors and review policies to comply with safety legislation and industry practices.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversees the process to review/revise policies and standard operating procedures under supervision of Vice President, Regulatory Compliance.
    • Assists other departments with the review and drafting of policies and standard operating procedures.
    • Conducts internal needs assessments to identify compliance support requirement on a continuing basis.
    • Monitors changes in requirements to mitigate risks and achieve compliance.
    • Monitors and coordinates internal and external regulatory audits/reviews and findings of audit deficiencies.
    • Supports the collection of data for regulatory filings.
    • Creates and analyzes internal regulatory reporting.
    • Assists the Annual Compliance Risk Assessment process at AdvantageCarePhysicians New York, led by Vice President, Regulatory Compliance.
    • Assists in the administration of the Corporate Governance Hotline.
    • Conducts NY state-specific statutory research
    • Drafts compliance communications and drives problem resolution for a business segment.
    • Performs other job-related duties as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred
    • Minimum 3 to 5 years of Healthcare-related Regulatory/ Compliance or Paralegal experience required
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the proven ability to present and explain complex information required.
    • Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers, leadership and all levels of the organization, with a positive and professional image required.
    • Familiar with a variety of functions within physician group practices, and procedures required.
    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
