At AdvantageCare Physicians primary and specialty care is coordinated through an integrated network of full-service medical offices, regional specialty referral hubs, urgent care centers and strategic hospital affiliations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Long Island.


    Under the supervision of the Assistant Practice Administrator, answers telephones, greets patients, schedules appointments, registers patients and enters financial data into an electronic system, collects patient visit fees, and performs routine clerical duties. The PSR is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of AdvantageCare Physicians and maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information.



    • Assist the assigned department in all clerical aspects and support relative to their delivery of medical care and/or services to enrollees and extended contractors. Such support may include, but not be limited to answering telephones, word processing, filing, and photocopying.
    • May provide customer service for enrollees visiting the assigned department.
    • Participate in scheduling appointments utilizing the Company’s computer system.
    • May participate in retrieval and/or delivery of files within the Center.
    • Perform specific functions relative and/or unique to the assigned department.
    • Provide switchboard coverage and relief for other functions and departments.
    • Greets and checks-in patients and prepares and processes appropriate forms.
    • Checks-out patients at the end of the visit, verifying that patients have all required documentation prior to leaving the medical facility.
    • Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, families and significant others.
    • Answers telephones in a professional manner utilizing standard ACP greeting and excellent customer service skills.
    • Schedules patient appointments in computer system. Verifies insurance coverage, as required.
    • Demonstrates proficiency with computer systems (e.g., electronic practice management/electronic health record) within 3 months of training. Completes all tasks on the electronic system required for the job function consistently, accurately, and in a timely manner.
    • Checks email correspondence, electronic task lists, and other written communication regularly throughout the business day to enable timely knowledge of and response to written correspondence.
    • Maintains effective communication with patients, families, peers and other members of the health care team.
    • Performs other job-related duties as required.



    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Minimum one year of clerical or service experience, preferably in a medical environment
    • Excellent communication and organization skills
    • Ability to utilize various computer systems in addition to Microsoft Word, Excel and working knowledge of PowerPoint
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, and demonstrated ability at effective problem resolution
