  • Overview

    The Instructional Designer is responsible for assisting in building and maintaining the Master Train Environment. This position is also responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and managing all Epic or Epic related trainings for all end users including but not limited to ACPNY incumbent employees, ACPNY new hires or contracted staff.


    • Develops/Revises comprehensive training curricula, using various modalities, with the collaboration of colleagues and partners
    • Ensures project tasks are completed within project timeline.
    • Manages project training requirements and scheduling of resources with assistance.
    • Develops the Policies and Procedures for the training plan.
    • Develops and monitors comprehensive training plan and training documentation.
    • Monitors and reviews the progress of end user training by using questionnaires, observations or interviews and through discussions with organizational managers and Project Managers.
    • Assists in resolving specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
    • Appropriately escalates issues to the leader or project director.
    • Maintains a high organizational priority for training throughout the organization.
    • Provides expertise and experience to the development of activation plans, application activation tasks, and production environment readiness.
    • Assists in coordinating interactions and activities of vendors, both on-site and off-site.
    • Performs other job-related duties as required.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field. (Preferred)
    • Epic Certified in related application. Maintains current New Version Testing certification. (R)
    • Obtains cross training (credentialed) in other applications as needed. (R)


    • Minimum 2 years in a training position, using Epic applications. (R)
    • Capacity to manage multiple competing objectives and to communicate results in clear and unambiguous terms to management and end user personnel. (R)
    • Knowledge of and the ability to use PC-based word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software to create teaching/learning materials and documentation. (R)
    • Understanding of e-learning techniques. (R)
    • Excellent knowledge of English grammar and spelling for use in both verbal and written communication and record maintenance. (R)
    • Ability to plan and develop learning objectives and course materials, maintain accurate documentation and statistical data, and provide follow-up evaluation. (R)
    • Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and assignments accurately within a set time frame and to function under stressful situations in a calm and rational manner. (R)
    • Ability to develop and adhere to time schedules in order to meet project deadlines and to sequence activities logically. (R)
    • Sharp attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy while compiling statistical data and course materials. (R)
    • Regular need to work effectively with wide range of very senior to very junior people under training project and ad hoc conditions. (R)
