The Director, Learning & Development, in collaboration with business leaders and in alignment with business objectives, develops the AdvantageCare Physicians patient related training strategy. The Director, Learning & Development will collaborate with business leaders in assessing patient related learning/development needs and designing the strategy, development, delivery and evaluation of L&D programs, systems, and resources to meet these needs. The Director, Learning & Development will lead and direct all clinical, operational, and EPIC related training and development functions within the organization to ensure appropriate learning opportunities and initiatives are developed and implemented to drive improved performance and organizational results within the clinical and operational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with business leaders to assess patient related learning/development needs and create a strategy.
  • Enhances, develops and plans programs/offerings to address corporate/department/individual development needs and gaps.
  • Works cross-functionally as well as in collaboration with the leadership team, in determining organizational needs and goals and building an education strategy and delivery platform that supports the objectives of the business.
  • Identifies and recommends clinical, operational and EPIC training programs and processes to address business needs; sourcing and implementing effective training methods to enhance organizational performance.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of learning & training activities. Obtains feedback on an ongoing basis while developing solutions to ensure strategies will meet the needs of the organization. Addresses gaps and areas needing improvement.
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training by creating, monitoring, analyzing and reporting metrics to evaluate and track results and impact of training activities.
  • Participates in the design and implementation of training communication strategies.
  • Develops budgets and business plans while managing resources for designated training functions or training projects.
  • Anticipates future trends and creates innovative strategies to lead training initiatives.
  • Leads, coaches, counsels, mentors and hires L&D staff; sets direction, assigns projects/activities, evaluates effectiveness/performance and development of staff.
  • Provides consulting services to teams throughout the organization to facilitate implementation of new programs, processes and initiatives.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in learning & development and/or organizational development, with a minimum of 4-5 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience with clinical, operational and clinical systems training, and instructional design.
  • Ability to identify training and development best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business performance gaps into learning and development strategies.
  • Experience building diverse subject matter curriculum with demonstrated results in elevating knowledge, skills and execution.
  • Experience using learning diagnostic tools to evaluate gaps in existing knowledge and skills, and in assessing performance and overall competency in post-delivery of training.
  • Strong leadership, organizational management and talent evaluation skills.
  • Strong relationship building, influencing, collaborative/consultative skills at all organization levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interface with all level of employees.
  • Effective analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and facilitation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in related field.
  • EPIC experience.
