Our 30+ professionally managed, multi-specialty physician practices are designed to deliver convenient, comprehensive and community-based care. At AdvantageCare Physicians primary and specialty care is coordinated through an integrated network of full-service medical offices, regional specialty referral hubs, urgent care centers and strategic hospital affiliations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Long Island.


Under the supervision of the Pratice Adminidtrator/Assistant Practice Administrator, answers telephones, greets patients, schedules appointments, registers patients and enters financial data into an electronic system, collects patient visit fees, and performs routine clerical duties. The PSR is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of AdvantageCare Physicians and maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information.



  • Greets customers in polite, prompt, helpful manner. Provides any necessary instructions/directions. Informs appropriate department/person of person's arrival.
  • Greets and checks-in patients and prepares and processes appropriate forms. Assists patients by giving directions, arranging transportation and other duties, as needed.
  • Checks-out patients at the end of the visit, verifying that patients have all required documentation prior to leaving the medical facility.
  • Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, families and significant others.
  • Answers telephones in a professional manner utilizing standard ACP greeting and excellent customer service skills.
  • Schedules patient appointments in computer system. Verifies insurance coverage, as required.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with computer systems (e.g., electronic practice management/electronic health record) within 3 months of training.
  • Completes all tasks on the electronic system required for the job function consistently, accurately, and in a timely manner.
  • Takes complete and accurate messages from all individuals contacting the medical facility by telephone, including messages related to patient needs intended for providers and clinical staff. Delivers messages to the intended recipient in a timely manner.
  • Maintains effective communication with patients, families, peers and other members of the health care team.
  • Makes reminder and “no show” calls. Prints schedules and confirms appointments. Sends correspondence to patients’ residences in order to remind, recall or reschedule appointments.
  • Requests patient charts from Medical Records Department for distribution, as appropriate Searches for missing charts before they are needed for clinical sessions, if required.
  • Provide switchboard coverage and relief for other functions and departments.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year of clerical or service experience, preferably in a medical environment
  • Demonstrates ability to handle multiple tasks and to deal calmly with individual under stress. Adhere to all ACP policies and procedures
  • Ability to utilize various computer systems in addition to Microsoft Word, Excel and working knowledge of PowerPoint.Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail


  • Demonstrates the ability to set priorities and organize work. Identifies, reports, and solves problems effectively
